Campaign Coin, Two New Characters, and Sneak Preview Video

Metal Porcelain Throne Token by Campaign Coins

We’ve partnered with Campaign Coins to make the Porcelain Throne token for the deluxe edition.

Enlarged for detail, quarter for scale
Enlarged for detail, quarter for scale

This is a computer rendering, it will look even cooler when finished! It will be 3mm thick, almost twice as thick as a US quarter. And made of zinc, not porcelain.

In gameplay, it will serve the same function, and replace, the clear Porcelain Throne card in the standard edition. It will have the rules for the Porcelain Throne on the reverse side.

This coin already comes with every copy of the deluxe edition, but it is now available as an add-on to any order for $10. You can add money on now, or later in backerkit if you like. But adding on now will help us reach our stretch goals...

Introducing The Doge and Melodramadre

We are now well above $30,000 pledged! That means every copy of the game fulfilled through this Kickstarter will now include a Margarine card. And we’re so close to $35,000 right now that we’re going to introduce our next two stretch goal Characters, to unlock at $35k and $40k. Meet The Doge and Melodramadre...

The Doge will unlock at $35,000 and Melodramadre will unlock at $40,000.

Sneak Preview Video

We had a ton of fun playing a prototype of Gloom of Thrones at a sneak preview event at GAMA Trade Show. Some game store owners and employees gave us their thoughts on the game. Check it out!

GameTrayz Player Mats and More

Player mat by GameTrayz

We’ve partnered with GameTrayz to design the player trays for the deluxe edition. They’ve sent us this mockup of a tray and Bannister player mat, and it’s looking amazing.

The deluxe edition will include four of these clear plastic trayz, with four different full-color chipboard boards that slot into the bottom. Right now the chipboard inserts are single-sided, showing each Gloom of Thrones family’s art, but we’ve recently revealed a social stretch goal to unlock double-sided printing for the boards. The reverse side will match the art style from core Gloom, so you’ll be able to use these player mats with all your Gloom games!

GameTrayz is also designing the main box insert for the deluxe edition. Stay tuned for more.

Important! These trayz are only part of the Gloom of Thrones deluxe edition. If you’ve only pledged at the Afternoon Watch ($25 / standard edition) level, you’ll need to upgrade your pledge to receive these beautiful mats.

Motto Mondays

The winner for the motto of Kelly’s Dragons is… It’s Getting Hot in Here! Check out some other amusing backer submissions.

Next up for a vote is the Bannisters: "A Bannister Never Spays Their Pets", or "I Think I Need a Drink?"

Stretch Goal Progress

So far we’ve unlocked:

✅ Hurdur Character card

✅ Full-color rules

✅ Create-your-own opaque Character card at DriveThruCards

🔜 And we’re so close to unlocking Margarine for everyone!

We’ll have more information on the create-your-own cards later, but to get an idea, here is the card creator for Murder of Crows. For both Gloom of Thrones and Murder of Crows, you will be able to upload a picture of yourself (or anyone, as long as you have the rights to the image), order a fully-playable, opaque card, and tell a story about your untimely death in game! It will cost 9c a card, plus shipping, so you’ll be able to get a whole family of your design delivered to you for less than $4 in the US.

Help us reach another goal by retweeting this tweet. Next up is an interactive tutorial on Dized!

Your Very Own Gloom Card, Margarine, and Munchkin
about 5 years ago – Sat, Apr 13, 2019 at 06:52:21 AM

Create Your Own Gloom Card!

We’ve added a new pledge level! The Ironic Bank of Bravoes tier gives you the chance to create your very own, custom Gloom card. You’ll get five hundred clear plastic cards just for you, featuring… well, you tell us! Make yourself a playable Character, create a Modifier to promote your business, or make your wedding an Event and hand out the cards to everyone who comes. Check it out on the Gloom of Thrones Kickstarter page.

My (fully playable!) business cards are an example of something you could make. This is also contact info for me if you have questions or ideas.

The Ironic Bank tier also includes everything from the Umpteen Kingdoms collection (so, well, everything!) and free shipping anywhere in the world.

Designs must be provided by May 7th, but the sooner the better. You can specify existing Gloom art, like the Gloom of Thrones Event, Untimely Death, or Character images, or you can provide your own original art. (If you create a Modifier, of course, no art is needed.) If your design will feature custom art, send us an email or Kickstarter message as soon as possible to make sure you create or provide it using the proper specs.

Margarine and Hurdur

We hit $25,000! Thanks, and congratulations, because every copy of the game fulfilled through this Kickstarter will now contain a Hurdur Character card. Ermahgerd Hurdur!

Our next stretch goal, at $30,000, will be a Margarine Character card, for all your queenly aspirations.

I can’t believe it’s not murder!

Munchkin Mini-Expansions

If you liked Munchkin Gloom*, we want to make sure you noticed that our friends at Steve Jackson Games are running a Munchkin Kickstarter that’s ending very soon. If you’re a fan of Munchkin Cthulhu, Munchkin Zombies, or Star Munchkin, these three mini-expansions will be key loot acquisition for your game collection.

*Munchkin Gloom is available as an add-on to the Gloom of Thrones Kickstarter! It’s $30.

Social Stretch Goal Updates

We’re only 5 Twitter followers away from unlocking full-color rules! Give us a follow on Twitter if you haven’t already.

Our next social achievement will likely unlock when we hit 1,600 Gloom Facebook fans, so slam that Like button on Facebook to help us make progress towards more fun extras and upgrades for Gloom of Thrones. We are especially loving your #WorstThrone submissions, keep ‘em coming!

Hope your Monday is delightfully Gloomy, backers.

Help Us Choose House Words

The playmats in the Gloom of Thrones deluxe edition will include house words for each of the four families in the game. We’ll say more about the playmats next week, but in the meantime, each Friday we’ll be running a poll to determine what each house motto should be.

First up: Kelly’s Dragons!🐉 “It’s Getting Hot in Here” or “It’s Lit Fam”? 🔥

Revealing first stretch goal character and live stream today
about 5 years ago – Mon, Apr 08, 2019 at 07:13:36 AM

Thank you so much for being one of the first backers of Gloom of Thrones. We’re over halfway to our goal!

When we fully fund Gloom of Thrones, we’ll reveal our first stretch goal Character, featuring new art by Brian Patterson. Every standard and deluxe edition shipped as part of this Kickstarter will come with a copy of every stretch goal Character we unlock. Share the campaign with your favorite Game of Thrones fan to help us get there faster.

We’ll be doing a live stream of a game of Gloom of Thrones on Facebook Live this afternoon (Central US time) so you can see the game in action. Plus, you’ll get to meet some of the Atlas Games team. Like Atlas Games on Facebook and you’ll be notified when we go live.
